Hi There! Great resources for kids - thanks for posting. New Hampshire Electric Co-op also has a site that's pretty kid friendly...www.smallsteps.coop. Enjoy!

Hi Stephanie,

Thanks for commenting. I checked it out and apparently NH Electric Coop provided a link on their website to the Touchstone Energy KidZone website I mentioned above. Good for them and good for us in having several ways to get to good kid's websites! Thanks again :-)

It's really not just for kids.  Later tonight I'm going to go through the sites to learn something too.

Thanks for great post!

You are so right, Angie :-)

My favorite is the Touchstone Energy KidZone for the littlest ones though. They can't get over the farting cow. They also know what methane gas is now :-)

Happy New Year!

Great list Fran.  Thanks for sharing.  I will re-blog this for more exposure.  My Agent Eric Caron has Completed his Eco Broker this week.  I will have mine done next week. Only 5 more agents to go for a full Brokerage...

THANKS so much for putting this list together for us. As eco-friendly brokers, we can pass this along to our clients. I am sure it will be appreciated.

Dear Diane and JaneAnne, thanks for checking in and appreciating the list. Diane, again, great accomplishment on getting your whole firm on board for EcoBroker (and for re-blogging me). Wishing you both a very prosperous New Year!

Laura and Cindy,

I was a Kindergarten Teacher, so I lookeed at these sites not only from the perspective of a parent, but as a Teacher, as well. To increase the benefit of using these sites, I suggest that parents who check these sites out with their children, have the children personally rate the sites. What happens when they do this, is that they process the information better as a result of having to use their analytical skills. Not too much emphasis on the scoring or they'll simply lose interest though. Feel free to add any favorites you may have :-)

Thanks for the post-what a great list!  How is the weather in New Hampshire now?  We are in the middle of another snow storm-again!

Hi Debra,

Yes, it snowed yesterday and today. It certainly isn't as bad a winter as it was last year however. One of those sites up above talked about snow and how pollution effects precipitation. I can't remember which one. If I find it, I'll add a comment. In the meantime, stay warm :-)

Thanks Betina,

I've just found another one for grades 6-12. It's based on the popular SimCity software that allowed children to build their own virtual cities which literally took on a life of their own. Some of you may remember the little Sims pets that needed to be fed and patted and take naps in order to live. This one is called GreenCity offered by www.AlternativeEnergy.com:

Green Cities

Hope you can check it out :-)

Thanks, so much to do so little time!
Posted by Marilyn Harrell (Century21 Smith-Miller, Inc.) almost 3 years ago

Hi Marilyn,

My goal this month is to build my own Green City. Real estate is truly picking up around here, so it may be a month or two before I comment on it, but that's the goal anyway. As a matter of fact, if anyone out there has tried it, please leave a comment.

Again, great info and thank-you very much for sharing this with everybody. My daughter's class is just starting to learn about energy and this will come in very handy.
