Asheville NC Real Estate - Smart Renovations 2010 include. . . CONCRETE!
In the Asheville NC real estate market , where eco-friendly features such as concrete innovations and design trends add-value to residential properties, I have been asking, " Are you ready to discover one of the newest design trends that actually is as old as the Roman Empire? "
Discovery :: The "New Concrete"- colorful, fine-fashioned, and with shining surfaces, the new concrete offers solutions in sustainable innovation that I daresay could have astounded Caesar himself. According to Wikipedia, in the Emperor's day, the "Concrete Revolution, freed Roman construction from the restrictions of stone and brick material and allowed for revolutionary new designs both in terms of structural complexity and dimension."
Today, in that same spirit, revolutionary new designs in custom concrete provide solutions --
"stadiums-full" of property owners can applaud. Solid, dependable, "concrete solutions" that make sense for both indoor and outdoor use.
Speaking of stadiums, how about this concrete solution from Elite Crete?

Exciting :: Kitchen remodeling ideas that include concrete countertops with integral sinks and backsplashes, kitchen islands, fireplace surrounds, concrete patio designs and walkways- and more...read on with the next installment of this series as I take you on a tour ...

This is a nice option and can help create an amazing look and feel that is also very durable.
Sam~
I agree, totally. And I am excited to see how beautiful this is.
janeAnne, It looks beautiful and I've never heard of it. I can't wait to see the tour, I think this is really interesting.
Carole, We're seeing more requests for this type of flooring. One of our clients requested a kitchen and bath in stained concrete. We are in the middle of another custom home that will also have exposed concrete floors. One secret is in quality surfacing materials.
Steve
JaneAnne, Sorry,
Steve
janeAnne, I love it - I've seen kitchen counters with this material as well.
I like concrete not only because it's sustainable, but it has some wonderful applications and finishes.
Yes and we love these floors!
Wish I could do the coloring myself, but I dare not
your friend from Charlottesville Virginia!
JaneAnne...it was just a matter of time before they came up with this...nice post and great info. Have a great day. We love Asheville...we're only about an hour away.
Carole~
I am excited about the product and the eco-sustainable possibilities. I plan to do a video tour of a project from start to finish...maybe in our own kitchen!!..so ...Stay tuned for more posts about decorative concrete... =)
Steve~
With, as you say, "...over 30 years of business ownership experience in real estate and the design and construction businesses...." you must be as excited about this "new" concrete design as I am...
Janice~
Stay tuned, my friend...I feel a kitchen countertop design is in the works for our family...and I will document it and let y'all know...
Hello Dena, my friend...
You are right on! Sustainable...and with all kinds of possibilities...
Charles~
Very good point you make. When I think about doing concrete..whether flooring or the kitchen countertops I am envisioning, I think of trained artisans who have the know-how to bring the quality, color and results I expect. Like you, I appreciate color and the nuances...stay tuned....
Hi JaneAnne! Don't you just LOVE stained concrete flooring! It's just so urban! Alot of our Uptown condos started doing this several years ago and I just didn't get it at first but, it has definitely grown on me and I would buy a home with this in a heartbeat now!
Hope you're doing well and staying warm up there! We're freezing again today here--if it's going to be this cold, I want some white fluffy stuff to go along with the cold!!
janeAnne, I've seen some wonderful stuff done with concrete flooring and kitchen counters. What'll they come up with next?
Debe~
i think this is one of the most fascinating interior design elements I have seen in years!
Pat~
I especially like that Local Artisans can be involved in the process.
