Possibly you already have an idea that comfortable-green and eco-friendly homes offer positive
possibilities for you and your family.
Today I am wondering which features in your green home and land are most important to you.
For example- how would you rate the reduction in the cost of utilities? Indoor air quality? Sustainable quality? Native landscaping? A small footprint? Green community amenities? Edible landscaping? Energy efficient appliances? Non toxic finishes and paints? The Energy Star® rating?
Here is a Green Home Features ranking poll. Take it and let me know!

Hi janeAnne,
I voted in your poll.....excellent question to ask particularly where home selling is concerned.
Energy efficiency would be my number one concern, and then environmental safety such as air quality.

THX! It is always fun to listen to what really is uppermost on our clients' wish-list. I imagine many wil vote as you did.
janeAnne, I think pretty much every on your list is important. While I voted for energy efficiency, non-toxic materials, comfort and natural light are right up there.
I put energy efficiency as well, which is now at 75% on your poll.
However, all of the other things are important too. I have 6 kids and raising them in a healthy environment is important to me. Edible landscaping is a favorite of mine. I have lemon, orange and plum trees in my yard and I am determined to have at least 75% edible plants in my yard when I'm done. I think the plum may be dieing though.
That was a tough quiz. I finally chose natural light, but energy efficiency was right up there at the top. I like Cheri's edible landscape comments, too, so I'm conflicted by the bad choice of "choose only one". I'm glad when I chose my wife I wasn't restricted to choosing only one among smart, beautiful, charming, musical, etc. I wanted it all.

I agree. Possibly that is the point. Living a healthy lifestyle works ..on so many levels. ..comes together as a work of art...like this photo of Dave's hawthorn...

I am so attracted to the idea of edible landscapes! Energy efficiency is important, for sure, but so is good locally-grown and harvested food =) Is yours organic?
Dave~
I guess I would look for what makes me FEEL best...so natural light/day-lighting and edible landscapes are right up there on my list...but then so is saving money. YUP, this is a challenging poll.
Great post! I feel a re-blog comming.
I went for energy efficiency with the end goal of total sustainability.
Energy Efficiency is key! Fewer harmful outputs, less reliance on natural resources, lower costs, and USUALLY cleaner indoor air too.
