AIA  is presenting another Box Lunch Educational Program- a seminar here in Asheville  by The Garland Company Wednesday, May 18, 2011 12:00noon Grove Arcade on one of my favorite subjects...GREEN asheville green roofsROOFS entitled: "Sustainable Design Roofing"
  
Participants will look into sustainable design as it relates to commercial roofing applications. Innovative technologies such as cool roofs, photovoltaic roofing, vegetated roof systems, recyclable roofing, roofing materials manufactured with post consumer recycled content, and low VOC roofing options will be discussed.
 

Lots of great lunch and learn programs are available in Asheville. These programs are free to AIA Asheville Members, Allied Members, and Sponsors who welcome everyone to their events.  Cost for Non-Members is $10.

How to Preview LAND- and Spot a "Ghost" in the Meadow!

Asheville Picnics and Day Trips  : Down By the Stream  (Series)

 If you are a Land Broker like I am, you love the LAND. Previewing Land for your clients is a euphemism for " neighborhood vacation."  Especially when you take your camera and pack a picnic...like we did today!

Asheville On the Road to View LAND and Stream

THIS Asheville area picnic includes the sweet scent of a blooming countryside, picturesque vistas, and mountains- Two Sisters in the distance.

It's an Appalachian wonder, all right, leading to acreage where  you can just hang out, toss your picnic basket in this magical meadow beside the vocal stream (see photos below) and really get into a slower pace. Bring along some homemade peach cobbler, and just "BE" for an afternoon...or longer.
