I'll tarry no longer on the virtues of investing in a second and/or vacation home in Asheville. As I pointed 
out in the post on that subject, there are many opportunities for buyers in that special field. Possibly there is even a point at which sustainable development and second and vacation homes meet.
So, I shall sally forth from the opportunities for second home investing in the mountains, and into the realm of the virtues of green building within a sustainable community.. I am envisioning green building in eco-communities with renewable energy systems that have both creature comforts and quality of life components. I can see it right now Sunny spaces for gardens. A backdrop of Asheville's mountains in the distance. Trails leading to a vast system of greenways...
A human scale eco-community...a café, a neighborhood organic market, a local artisans' shop, a bakery, office and live-work space just off the road, a green house, a brewery, and further up the hill, small, yet elegant abodes, townhomes and single-family residences all in a mixed-use eco-development designed for sustainability and human-scale living.
Oh! Wait a minute! That sounds like one of our Asheville eco-communities! Want to know which one?
