Some time ago, a member at the Eco-All-Stars Group clued us all in to " ...the next big thing in small 
[GREEN & Eco-Friendly] living— sustainable living spaces in cargo containers. It seems that IdeaBox, a company out of Salem, Oregon offered "a lifestyle prefab housing solution,” a ready to go product -
This living space was " a blast to hang out in! [and offered] small spaces that soar, kitchens that rock, (see photo) baths with vessel sinks and tile showers. And a modern design that works!
As a LAND specialist, right away, I saw potential for my LAND buyers. Let’s say you invest in LAND but are not ready to build.
You may wish to have green, incredibly energy efficient temporary quarters as you build a family compound on the acreage.You may desire a lock ‘n leave a structure on land you are preserving in the mountains outside of Asheville,
as per this post I wrote back in 2008.
Today, I happened on an extension on the idea when I discovered the latest news from the Sierra Club and, “Home in a Box: Cargo Container Dwellings” and Cargotecture , architects and providers of modular homes that are portable, off the grid, and made of recycled materials. … sustainable living spaces in cargo containers.
Priced at about $60,000 these cargo container homes offer interesting solutions for land buyers as I said in 
my original post. Customized options include gorgeous kitchens, beamed ceilings, (see photo) solar panels, composting toilets, water collection decks, additional doors and (for more $$$) additional space and even upstairs living quarters.
“Aside from being combined to create larger spaces, this sustainable dwelling can be an addition in the back yard as a home office or a guesthouse that sleeps up to four people.
AHA! Perfect for the Land Buyer who dreams of enjoying the investment while s/he builds.
This unique living space, self-contained and planted, is the answer to a ready-to-go vacation retreat in the mountains. Peter Secan is your contact. Secan is the HyBrid project manager.
