Asheville’s Historic Neighborhoods Homes- Albemarle Park (Asheville)
Asheville is proud of our sustainable neighborhoods, a number of which are listed in the National Register of Historic Places.
To the north of downtown, North Asheville’s sustainable neighborhoods include: Albemarle Park, Beaverdam, Beaver Lake, Chestnut Hills, Grove Park, Kimberly, Montford, Norwood Park, and Reynolds Mountain. Listed in the National Register of Historic Places are the Montford Area Historic District, Chestnut Hill Historic District, and Grove Park Historic. Montford and Albemarle Park have been named local historic districts by the Asheville City Council.
What of the value-added factor? A home for sale in one of Asheville NC’s sustainable neighborhoods listed on the National Register of Historic Places Travel Itinerary could be considerable. Experience shows that such homes are always in demand, and frequently hard to find. Take for example historic homes in one of my all-time favorite historic neighborhoods,
Albemarle Park. As I noted in an earlier post on this neighborhood, it is both is charming and elegant neighborhood with curving roadways and stately trees, an Arts & Crafts neighborhood, was built around the site plan designed by Samuel Parsons Jr., the landscape architect of New York’s Central Park.
Every home in the neighborhood has a distinctive architectural style. Walk with me through Albemarle Park and you will see “cottages” that show Italian, French and Swiss influences as well as Georgian Revival, Appalachian, and Adirondack architectural styles.
